The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Mains Result 2026. The testing agency issued the provisional answer key on February 4 and let applicants file objections until February 6. The date for the JEE Main session 1 results is February 16, 2026, 6:30 PM. Candidates can get their scorecards from the official NTA website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE Main grades will decide who can take the JEE Advanced exam and get into NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

You can view the Session 1 scorecards on the official website. Candidates will have to download and save their scorecards for counselling and later use. The exam authority will not provide anyone with a physical copy of the scorecard.

The JEE Main scorecard displays percentage grades rather than raw marks. This percentile shows how many people who took the examination and scored the same as or lower than you did. The NTA uses a normalisation technique to ensure the exam is fair, as it is given across different shifts with varying levels of difficulty. This method equalises scores across sessions, allowing you to compare performance.

If you took both Session 1 (in January/February) and Session 2, your All India Rank (AIR) is based on the higher of your two NTA scores. This rank is the most important factor in getting into the best engineering programs. We also give category-wise ranks for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST, which are very important for the reservation-based admission procedure.

NTA Percentile Score in JEE Main 2026: How to Calculate

The percentile formula is one of the parts of the JEE Main result that people often get wrong. This is how you figure out the NTA percentile score:

Percentile Score = (Number of candidates with raw score ≤ your score) / (Total candidates in the session) x 100

This process ensures that differences in how hard the work is between shifts don’t hurt any candidates. Because of this, two candidates in different shifts who got the same raw numbers might get different percentile scores.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Cut-Off Expected Qualifying Percentile Range

The JEE Main 2026 cut-off is the lowest score needed to be eligible for JEE Advanced and to get into top engineering schools like NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The NTA will announce the exact cut-off after the results are in. Still, these percentiles are likely to be enough based on past trends and analysis by experts:

  • General: ~90–92 percentile
  • OBC-NCL: ~73–75 percentile
  • SC: ~50–55 percentile
  • ST: ~40–45 percentile
  • EWS: ~75–78 percentile
